Painting and Fishing...Two Different Worlds

Well we had a good weekend. It started off with a bang. Justin, Katelyn and I went to Venesian Inn for my mother's day dinner and then went to Different Strokes Pottery for some painting fun. This really is a neat place to go and spend some time painting your own pottery or creating a masterpiece for someone else. We did a little bit of both. Katelyn really enjoyed painting! I wish I had a camera but perhaps when we pick up our pieces this weekend I can post a picture of the finished product. Saturday we did things around the house which really needed to be done but still did not catch up on house work or laundry. I'm feverishly doing laundry tonight to try to get caught up on that. It just seems to be the endless mound. Anyway yesterday we went to church and then took Katelyn over to the Fairview Gardens duck pond as we call it by Root Elementary on Mission. She loved feeding the ducks.
We saw several people fishing and decided to give it a try with Katelyn. She was really excited so we bought her a Dora fishing pole and some worms and headed out to Lake Wedington. We didn't even get a bite but it was fun. She got bored after about an hour and a half but we stayed about three hours total. She like it so much that we invited Denver to go with us this evening to Lake Fayetteville (this is much closer to our house and less of a chance of car sickness for me!) Denver is living the life of bachelor for the next two weeks because Brittany is at LSU's Graduate School of Banking. We are making sure that he is well taken care of and has plenty to occupy his time other than studying for his insurance exam. Here are some great pictures from this evenings fish.

Thanks for taking such great care of Denver. I talked to him and told him to go home..so maybe he will leave your house soon. I know him and Justin could talk all night if we let them! They have so much fun together! Your pictures are really cute! It looks like you all had a great evening.

See you soon!
